We are all one of one is:
Two friends, Jumana & Andrea who both studied fashion and textiles together, and both worked in the industry for over two decades for global, high street, luxury and independent brands.
Both passionate about textiles, workwear, UK manufacturing and garments that you can keep wearing for many years to come.
We work with one family of kantha experts to select pieces that are 15+ years old and have been used as blankets.
After a trip to India in 2024 we reminisced about the people we’d met and the fabrics we’d found.
The kanthas were our favourite fabrics.
We learned about them from the people who know them best, a family in Jaipur who are experts in sourcing antique kantha.
In understanding the many hours it takes to make a kantha, we both deeply felt the humanity and emotion in each piece.
Kanthas are made by ordinary women at home. They are the resourceful reuse of fabrics and part of a tradition of upcycling.
Each is an individual’s creative expression.
We feel that each kantha holds stories from the past, living through its layers and through each individual hand stitch.
Kanthas became our endless topic of conversation. We talked about how we could repurpose them again; as garments, giving them another life.
This is how WE ARE ALL ONE OF ONE came about: ageless, genderless & timeless workwear garments using repurposed fabrics.
We decided to make our garments in the UK supporting the regrowth of this industry.
The garments are workwear in style, made with an attention to detail akin to the traditional tailoring of Savile Row.
We work closely with a small factory in London where we can oversee production easily and make our garments in small batches.
